On August 27, 2020, the Professional Women’s Network will hold a virtual luncheon meeting on Zoom.
We’ll be having this conversation with Sharon Thomas Yarbrough, Chavah Grant and Danyale Thomas. These three fantastic women will be discussing questions such as: Have you ever been subject to racial profiling? Do you feel that a person’s race or ethnicity makes it harder to succeed in business in Hawaii? What can we do as an organization to help promote the fair treatment of Black women in business in Hawaii?
Meet our panel:
Sharon Thomas Yarbrough is the founder/president of Sisters Empowering Hawaii (SEH) – an organization designed to educate, motivate, and empower all women. SEH actively engages our community to discuss issues affecting women, children, minorities, and the underserved. Through its efforts, SEH helps to foster the Aloha spirit and strengthen our statewide ‘ohana through educational seminars, workshops, motivational speaking, and outreach efforts.
Chavah Grant is an award–winning entrepreneur and event designer. She is an elite wedding and event super–planner and connoisseur of all things bridal. With more than 12 years of event experience and 7+ years of running Vida Chic, she loves the freedom and creative part of her job the most. Chavah has planned intimate beach elopements in Europe to celebrity events and concerts and has been featured in 100+ tv shows, magazines, news outlets, blogs and podcasts.
Danyale Thomas integrates connection, collaboration, and celebration to encourage women through life’s transitions – the driving force behind her 25-year career in the beauty industry. From 2018 -2019, Danyale led the Honolulu WomanSpeak circle, focusing on educating, supporting and uplifting its members, resulting in women developing their personal messages, and using their voices to change the world. Currently, Danyale is a financial services professional with New York Life Insurance company.
