On November 19, 2020, the Professional Women’s Network will hold a virtual luncheon meeting on Zoom with well-known Hawaii economist, Paul Brewbaker, who will be presenting on the topic, “Taking Control When the Economy Seems Out of Control”. Our second speaker, Glennel Jordan, Certified Financial Planner, will be discussing “Taking Control: Financial Strategies for Women”.
Paul Brewbaker, TZ Economics, a Hawaii consultancy doing corporate work, development impact analysis, and litigation support. His background is in research on the Hawaii economy and in country and financial risk analytics from 25 years as a commercial bank economist. He graduated from Stanford University and received his Ph.D. from the University of Hawaii, both in economics. He also did graduate work at the University of Wisconsin, taught at its Madison and Milwaukee campuses, and has lectured at the University of Hawaii. He holds a Certified Business Economist designation from the National Association for Business Economics. Paul is a long-time director of the Hawaii Economic Association Hospitality Association Board, and the Kamehameha Schools Alumni Association Board.
Glennel Jordan moved from Los Angeles to Maui when she was 15. After graduating from Seabury High School, she moved to Oahu to further her education at Hawaii Pacific University. She earned a BS/BA degree in Entrepreneurial Studies, and her MBA in finance. Glennel is a Certified Financial Planner Professional with more than 12 years of experience as a financial advisor. She specializes in helping clients create a retirement plan that starts with their vision for an optimal retirement and then uses various financial strategies to help them accomplish their goals. She has her Series 6, 7, 63, 65 and is licensed in the states of Hawaii and Nevada in health and life insurance. She is a long time North Shore resident and in her free time enjoys surfing, farming, and spending time with her husband. She is currently expecting her first child in 2 weeks!
