NOVEMBER — PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
A Time for Gratitude
As Covid fears continue to affect our daily lives and we approach the end of 2020, I want to take a moment to focus on the very many blessings in our lives.
We are extremely blessed to have been born, raised, or come to live in the United States at a time when women’s voices can be heard, when injustices are recognized, and avenues to demand equality exist. We are also very lucky to live in a world in which technology is mainstream and digital connection is possible.
It is thanks to technology that we are able to continue our activities as a professional networking group. It is thanks for the technology that many of us remain able to work, and that our children are able to receive an education throughout these extended lock-downs.
I can say with certainty that there has never been a time in history with such resources available to help us all get through the challenges we face.
Let’s also take a moment to recognize all the women in STEM, a field that continues to be male-dominated, with only 28% women. May we nurture the next generation so that every girl feels she can achieve success in any field!
